Introduction
Welcome to the Teaching Instinct programme and its wide range of topics. It aims to interest and support all who have a teaching or training commitment. If you have just taken up a teaching post for the first time, you will find this series of particular use. It is a good starting point and we hope will entice you to go deeper into the subject at a later date.

Each topic is formatted in the same way so you will very quickly find your way from one section to another. Take a moment now to familiarise yourself with these sections.
Topics consist of the following components.

This short section gives you a brief summary of the topic and, through quotes or other means, draws your attention to the importance and/or usefulness of the topic. |

This is the 'meat' of the topic. First you are given an introduction to the topic. This is followed by pages that go into the topic in more detail showing you how it would be implemented in everyday practice. |

This section guides you to a range of other resources if you wish to further study the topic. These include journal articles, books, videos, other courses.
